Important Update from M&M Food Market

To our Valued Customers,

It has been one week since I shared our company’s plans in response to COVID-19 and a great deal has happened since. Today, I am providing an important update on how we’re maintaining the service and products you expect while outlining new actions taken to preserve the health and safety of our teams and everyone who enters our stores. I would also like to share helpful advice that I’ve heard from our stores across the country with the hope that it makes your shopping experience more convenient.

Service and safety

  • We consider M&M Food Market to be an essential service to the communities we’ve been a part of for many years. It is our responsibility and privilege to provide Canadians with safe, high-quality frozen food. That’s why we are doing everything that we can to keep all M&M Food Market stores across the country open during this COVID-19 crisis.

  • To combat virus spread, our in-store food sampling program has been suspended across the country and our in-store staff continues with recommended hygiene practices. Mandatory and frequent handwashing and regular store cleaning and sanitization is ongoing. Every aspect of our store is considered with a special focus on high-touch areas like freezer doors, handles, countertops, and our payment terminals. Should one of our stores have additional needs, we have partnered with a professional sanitizing service to support our locations nationwide.

  • We know there have been times when we don’t have everything you’re looking for and appreciate that can be a challenge. While this will happen periodically due to increased shopping demands, we are doing everything possible to quickly replenish and restock our freezers and shelves. Each M&M Food Market store has been getting regular deliveries and where necessary, we have arranged for additional shipments. We are closely monitoring inventory levels and are working side-by-side with our distribution partner to ensure a steady supply of the products you want.

  • Health experts unanimously agree that social distancing is a key part of limiting the spread of COVID-19. In an effort to keep our employees and customers safe, there may be times when we have to limit the number of people in our stores. I understand that waiting to enter a store is not ideal, but your patience is greatly appreciated for the benefit of everyone involved.

  • As part of our commitment to unparalleled customer service, we are extending our regular Tuesday seniors discount to apply every day when they order online for pick up.

Our shopping advice to you

  • Some locations may reduce their hours to accommodate things like restocking and additional cleaning. Before you go shopping, please be aware that store hours will vary by location so please consider adjusting your schedule.

  • We are still accepting cash, however, we are encouraging our customers to use their contactless debit or credit card as much possible.

  • If you are part of a higher-risk group or are feeling unwell, please allow us to serve you through our convenient online order and pick-up or delivery service available on our website.

  • We will not be accepting any returns for purchases made since Monday, March 2nd unless there is a clearly identified product quality issue or food safety concern.

In closing, I want to express my sincere gratitude for your continued support during this challenging time. I am heartened by the stories I’ve heard about Canadians pulling together to support one another and can assure you our team is up to the task of meeting your needs.
