How to Prepare the Perfect Steak

Whether you like yours well-done, medium-rare or fresh-off-the-butchers-block rare, a good steak is all in how you grill it. Here's a step-by-step break down of the best way to prepare steak on the grill.

  1. Choose your favourite steak. Choice will depend on you personal tastes and the occasion.
  2. Thaw in a vacuum-sealed package overnight in the refrigerator or in cold water for 1-1.5 hours.
  3. Tip: Never thaw your steak in the microwave. Thawing steak slowly is the key to maintaining perfect tenderness and juiciness.
  4. Pat steak dry and season to taste. Allow steak to sit out for approximately 30 minutes - 1 hour to come closer to room temperature. 
  5. Preheat BBQ to high temperature.

    Tip: Never cut steak with a knife to check for juices to escape. 
  7. Let meat rest, tented with foil for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the steak to finish cooking and the juices to redistribute. 
  8. Serve and enjoy!
