Jambalaya Kit

Serving Information:

PREPARE FROM FROZEN.

WARNING:

  1. Do NOT microwave.
  2. Do NOT use conventional or toaster oven.

STOVE TOP:

  1. For best results, use non-stick medium size skillet with lid.
  2. Thaw sauce pouch in warm water for 5 to 10 minutes.
  3. Preheat skillet on LOW.
  4. Cut open pouch, add sauce to skillet and increase heat to MEDIUM.
  5. When sauce starts to simmer, peel back film on meat and vegetable side of the tray.
  6. Add meat and vegetables carefully to the sauce.
  7. Cover and cook for 4 to 5 minutes. Stir occasionally to mix components into sauce.
  8. Remove film and add rice carefully to skillet.
  9. Add 1/4 cup (60 mL) water over rice. Cover and cook for 5 to 7 minutes. Stir occasionally to mix components into sauce
  10. Remove from burner and let stand for 2 minutes before serving.

NOTE: Cook until minimum internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) is reached. Since appliances vary, these instructions are guidelines only.

Jambalaya Sauce (Diced Tomatoes [Tomatoes, Tomato Juice, Citric Acid, Calcium Chloride], Water, Onions, Crushed Tomatoes, Canola Oil, Corn Starch, Garlic Puree [Garlic, Canola Oil, Citric Acid], Salt, Black Pepper, Paprika, Sugar, Oregano, Granulated Garlic, Onion Powder, White Pepper, Cayenne Pepper, Xanthan Gum), Cooked White Rice, Cooked Chicken, Celery, Cooked Andouille Sausage (Pork, Water, Salt, Spices, Dextrose, Pimento Paste, Seasoning, Sodium Erythorbate, Smoke Flavour, Sodium Nitrite), Cooked Shrimp (Shrimp, Water, Sodium Phosphate, Salt), Green Bell Peppers.
