These delicious and simple-to-prepare shortbread and sugar cookies make a perfect contribution to a holiday cookie exchange.

Preparation:

  Chocolate Dipped Cookies

  1. Bake either M&M Shortbread or M&M Sugar Cookies according to package instructions.
  2. Let cool.
  3. Melt a coating chocolate according to package instructions.
  4. Dip the cookies halfway into the melted chocolate.
  5. Remove cookie from the chocolate, lightly scraping the cookie along the lip of the dipping cup or bowl to remove excess chocolate.
  6. Lay flat on non-stick paper and allow the chocolate to set at room temperature.

  7. Variationdip the cookie half way into melted white coating chocolate. Let it set and then dip halfway into not-too-hot dark chocolate. The result will be a black and white dipped cookie effect.


  Walnut and Pecan Cookies 

  1. Break M&M Shortbread Cookie dough into pieces and let it defrost according to package instructions.
  2. Roll each piece into a ball. Place on a cookie sheet and press down to half height using the palm of your hand.
  3. Press a pecan or walnut in the centre.
  4. Bake according to package directions.
  5. Cool the cookies and dust with icing sugar.
  6. Variationuse half or a whole glace cherry (red or green) to top the cookie.


  Thumbprint Cookies 

  1. Break M&M Shortbread Cookie dough into pieces and let it defrost according to package instructions.
  2. Roll each piece into a ball. Place on a cookie sheet and press down to half height using the palm of your hand.
  3. Using your thumb, make a depression into each ball of cookie dough (this depression will get bigger as the cookie bakes).
  4. Cool the cookies and then fill the depression with your favorite jam.
  5. Variationfill depressions with peanut butter or Nutella.
