Potato Seafood Chowder

Serving Size: 6 or more servings
Serve up this hearty chowder with M&M Garlic Bread and a side salad for a deliciously easy comfort meal.
Potato Seafood Chowder


  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) olive oil
  • 1-1/2 cups (375 mL) diced onions, frozen
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 5 cups (1.25 L) chicken stock
  • 3 cups (750 mL) potatoes, cut into 1 cm x 1/2 cm cubes
  • 1 cup (250 mL) baby carrots, chopped
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 4 M&M Haddock Fillets, frozen
  • 1 can (398 mL/14 oz) cream style corn
  • 1 cup (250 mL) half and half cream (18%) or milk
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) cooked bacon, broken into bacon bits
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) chopped chives or green onions


In Dutch oven, heat oil over medium heat. Add diced onions and cook, stirring often for about 5 minutes. Add garlic; cook 1 minute.

Stir in broth, potatoes, baby carrots and bay leaf; bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.

Cut M&M Haddock Fillets into 1-inch pieces. Add fish and corn to pot. Cook for 4 minutes or until fish is opaque. Stir in cream; heat through.

Serve topped with chives and bacon bits.
