When is it Done?

There are three key ways to tell if your steak is done: temperature, time and touch. Use this handy guide to ensure you steak is cooked just the way you want it.

Well done

Steak is cooked through with no pink at all.         
Juices run clear. Press test is firm.
Thermometer
77° C / 170° F
7 minutes per side. 

Medium

Steak is pink and the juices run pink to clear       
Firm and springy press test.
Thermometer
71° C / 160° F
5 minutes per side. 

Medium Rare

Steak still a bit raw in the centre and the
juices run red. Press test is soft and spongy.      
Thermometer
63° C / 145° F
4 minutes per side.
