OFFICIAL RULES & REGULATIONS
PROMOTION PERIOD
The Scratch & Win Promotion (the “Promotion”) runs during normal store hours from April 18, 2024 until May 1, 2024 inclusively, or until official Scratch Cards (defined below) supplies are exhausted at each Participating Location (the “Promotion Period”) at participating M&M Food Market stores in Canada and excludes all non-traditional/express M&M Food Market locations (“Participating Locations”). Void where prohibited by law.
WHO MAY ENTER
To be eligible for this Promotion, an individual must:- be a legal resident of any Province or Territory of Canada;
- be of the age of majority in their province or territory of residence, or older at time of Promotion; and
- not be employed by M&M Meat Shops Ltd. (“Sponsor”), its franchisees, representatives or agents, affiliate companies, subsidiaries or advertising and promotion agencies (collectively “Promotion Parties”) at any time during the Promotion Period, or members of their immediate family or persons living in the same household (whether related or not)
By participating, you agree to be legally bound by the terms and conditions of these Official Rules and Regulations (the “Rules”)
HOW TO ENTER:
During the Promotion Period, eligible participants who make a minimum fifty dollars ($50) purchase before taxes will be presented with one (1) Scratch & Win card (“Scratch Card”), while supplies last, in-store at a Participating Location. The Scratch Card will be provided by the cashier at the Participating Location at the time of purchase and will contain one (1) scratch area revealing the prize notification which is either a discount on the eligible participant’s purchase on merchandise (“Discount”), or the award of an M&M Food Market product (“Product”) (hereinafter collectively called “Prize” or Prizes”). To redeem a Prize, the Scratch Card must be scratched by the cashier at a Participating Location. If any part of the scratch area on the Scratch Card is revealed prior to being scratched by the cashier at a Participating Location, the Scratch Card will be considered null and void. All Discounts must be used at time of receipt of the Scratch Card. The Participating Location’s cashier must scratch the Scratch Card and (i) the Discount written on the Scratch Card will be applied on the eligible participant’s purchase, or on the Product awarded, as the case may be. Under no circumstances can the eligible participant leave the cash counter and select additional items once the Discount has been revealed. Moreover, under no circumstances will the Discount on the Scratch Card be applied to another guest’s purchases. Once scratched, the Scratch Card remains the property of the Participating Location. No adjustments will be made on previous purchases and under no circumstances will the Discount apply to future purchases.
ALTHOUGH THE SCRATCH CARD MUST BE OBTAINED AND SCRATCHED BY A REPRESENTATIVE AT A PARTICIPATING LOCATION, THERE IS NO OBLIGATION TO COMPLETE ANY PURCHASE TRANSACTION, BUT THE SCRATCH CARD WILL BECOME VOID ONCE SCRATCHED.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To be entitled to obtain a Scratch Card without any purchase, a person needs to submit their complete name, address, home telephone number (include area code) and M&M Food Market Reward numbers, to M&M Meat Shops Ltd.’s Head Office “2024 Scratch & Win Promotion”, 2240 Argentia Road, Suite 100, Mississauga, Ontario L5N 2K7 together with a 300-word letter explaining why she/he loves M&M Food Market products. M&M Food Market Reward numbers can be obtained without charge at any M&M Food Market location in Canada.
Limit of one “no purchase” entry per envelope with sufficient postage. To be eligible, mail-in participations must be received by April 20, 2024 in order to be treated on time and allow the distribution of the Scratch Cards at the Participating Location nearest the respective entrant’s home during the Promotion Period, and while supplies last. There is a limit of one (1) Scratch card permitted per person for “No purchase” participations. No photocopied or mechanically reproduced entries will be accepted. M&M Meat Shops Ltd., its franchisees and affiliates will not be responsible for lost, stolen, misdirected, late, damaged, illegible, incomplete, delayed or postage-due entries.
At the start of the Promotion, each Participating Location will receive a total of one thousand (1,000) Scratch Cards that will be available for distribution at that Participating Location during the Promotion Period, while supplies last. There is a limit of one (1) Scratch card permitted per person, per day, per visit to a Participating Location. If it is discovered that any person has attempted to obtain more than one (1) Scratch Card per person, per day, per visit from a Participating Location by any means, then such person may be disqualified (in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor) and, if disqualified, all such person’s Scratch Cards will be considered null and void. All Scratch Cards are subject to verification at any time and for any reason. The Participating Locations and/or the Sponsor reserve the right, in their sole and absolute discretion, to require proof of identity and/or eligibility (in a form acceptable to the Sponsor, including, without limitation, government-issued photo identification): (i) for the purposes of verifying an individual’s eligibility to participate in this Promotion; (ii) for the purposes of verifying the eligibility and/or legitimacy of any Scratch Card and/or information entered (or purportedly entered) for the purposes of this Promotion; and/or (iii) for any other reason the Sponsor deems necessary, in its sole and absolute discretion, for the purposes of administering this Promotion in accordance with the Sponsor’s interpretation of letter and spirit of these Rules. Failure to provide such proof to the complete satisfaction of the Sponsor within the timeline specified by the Sponsor may result in disqualification in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor.
Each Scratch Card can only be used one (1) time, excludes purchases of gift cards and all online orders (delivery, pay online, pay in store), and cannot be combined with any other offer. Each Scratch Card will automatically become void after its use or at close of business at the Participating Location on May 1, 2024, whichever occurs first.
If it is discovered by the Sponsor (using any evidence or other information made available to or otherwise discovered by the Sponsor) that any person has attempted to: (i) obtain more than one (1) Scratch Card per person, per day, per visit; (ii) use multiple names, multiple identities, and/or any other means not in keeping with the Sponsor’s interpretation of the letter and spirit of these Rules to enter or otherwise participate in or to disrupt this Promotion; (ii) falsely claim a Scratch Card without legitimately obtaining an eligible Scratch Card in accordance with these Rules; and/or (iii) submit or has submitted a Scratch Card that has been falsified, manipulated or otherwise altered in any way (all as determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion); then such person may be disqualified from the Promotion in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor. The Promotion Parties and each of their respective agents, employees, directors, successors, and assigned (collectively, the “Released Parties”) are not responsible for, and accept no liability whatsoever in relation to, any late, lost, misdirected, delayed or incomplete information (all of which is void). Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, photocopies and/or other reproductions of Scratch Cards are strictly prohibited and will not be accepted.

At the start of the Promotion, one thousand (1000) Scratch Cards will be made available to each Participating Location and each Scratch Card for each Participating Location will reveal one (1) of the following Products or Discounts:

The odds of obtaining a particular Scratch Card will change throughout the Promotion Period as Scratch Cards are redeemed. The total number and particular quantities of Prizes available to be won will decrease as Scratch Cards are distributed and Prizes are claimed.
If due to printing, production, computer or other error of any kind, more Prizes are claimed than intended to be distributed or awarded according to these Rules, then, in addition to having the right to terminate the Promotion immediately, the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to rescind invalid Prize claims and/or conduct a random draw from amongst all eligible claimants to award the correct number and type of Prizes as specified in these Rules. In no event whatsoever will the Sponsor or any of the other Released Parties be liable for more than the number, type and value of Prizes as stated in these Rules.
Prizes must be accepted as awarded, are non-exchangeable, non-transferable, non-assignable and not redeemable for cash. No substitutions are permitted, except at Sponsor’s option. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to substitute any Prize with a prize of equal or greater value. All Prizes are valid at Participating Locations only, redeemable at the end of the sale as aforementioned and cannot be redeemed online. Discounts apply only to in-stock merchandise, apply to purchases before taxes and cannot be used on purchase of gift cards, sale items or any online orders (delivery, pay online, pay in store). Discounts have no cash surrender or other value. Discounts are not valid on prior sales and are applicable before taxes. Certain conditions may apply. Merchandise returned from a purchase with a Discount may be exchanged or returned subject to the Participating Location’s standard return/exchange policies. Refunds will be made in the original form of payment only, however under no circumstances will the Discount apply to future purchases even if merchandise purchased under the Discount is returned at a later date.
WINNER CONFIRMATION PROCESS
Before being declared eligible to receive a Prize, eligible participants will be required to correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question (without mechanical or other aid) as identified on the Scratch Card and present it to a representative at the Participating Location. By participating, you hereby: (i) confirm compliance with these Rules; (ii) acknowledge acceptance of the applicable Prize (as awarded); and (iii) release the Sponsor and all of the other Released Parties from any and all liability in connection with this Promotion, your participation therein and/or the awarding and use/misuse of the applicable Prize or any portion thereof. If you: (a) fail to correctly answer the skill-testing question; (b) cannot accept (or are unwilling to accept) the applicable Prize (as awarded) for any reason; and/or (c) are determined to be in violation of these Rules (all as determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion); then you may, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor, be disqualified (and, if disqualified, will forfeit all rights to the applicable Prize), the Scratch Card will become null and void and the corresponding Prize will not be available to be won in this Promotion.
PRIVACY/USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
By participating in this Promotion, each entrant expressly consents to the Sponsor, its agents and/or representatives, storing, sharing and using the personal information submitted only for the purpose of administering the Promotion and in accordance with the Sponsor’s privacy policy (available at: https://www.mmfoodmarket.com/pages/privacy-policy. This section does not limit any other consent(s) that an individual may provide to the Sponsor or others in relation to the collection, use and/or disclosure of their personal information.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
All Scratch Cards are the property of the Sponsor. This Promotion is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. The decisions of the Sponsor with respect to all aspects of this Promotion are final and binding on all entrants without right of appeal. The Released Parties will not be liable for the failure of any individual to receive a Scratch Card. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to withdraw, amend or suspend this Promotion (or to amend these Rules) in any way, in the event of any error, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor that interferes with the proper conduct of this Promotion as contemplated by these Rules. Any attempt to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of this Promotion in any way (as determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion) may be a violation of criminal and/or civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to cancel, amend or suspend this Promotion, or to amend these Rules, without prior notice or obligation, for any reason.
ANYONE DEEMED BY THE SPONSOR TO BE IN VIOLATION OF THE SPONSOR’S INTERPRETATION OF THE LETTER AND/OR SPIRIT OF THESES RULES FOR ANY REASON IS SUBJECT TO DISQUALIFICATION IN THE SOLE AND ABSOLUTE DISCRETION OF THE SPONSOR AT ANY TIME.
The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to adjust any of the dates, time frames and/or other mechanics stipulated in these Rules, to the extent deemed necessary by the Sponsor, for purposes of verifying compliance by any entrant and/or any other information or materials with these Rules, or as a result of any problems, or in light of any other circumstances which, in the opinion of the Sponsor, in its sole and absolute discretion, affect the proper administration of the Promotion as contemplated in these Rules, or for any other reason.
In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of these Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Promotion-related materials or the French Contest Rules, including, but not limited to, any website(s), point of sale, television, print or online advertising and/or any instructions or interpretations of these Rules given by any representative of the Sponsor, the terms and conditions of these Rules (in English) shall prevail, govern and control to the fullest extent permitted by law.
The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these Rules shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with the terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Rules or the rights and obligations of participants, the Sponsor or any of the other Released Parties in connection with the Promotion will be governed by and construed in accordance with the domestic laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of any other jurisdiction’s laws. The parties hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts located in Ontario in any action to enforce (or otherwise relating to) these Rules or relating to this Promotion.
