Cooking Instructions

PREPARE FROM FROZEN.

Remove all packaging, except cup.

MICROWAVE (1000 WATTS): (for best results)

  1. Place cake on microwave-safe plate. 
  2. Heat on high 50 to 60 seconds. 
  3. Invert plate over cake, flip and remove plastic cup. 
  4. Let stand 1 to 2 minutes before serving.

OVEN:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). 
  2. Place cake upside down on baking sheet and remove plastic cup (hold edges, press centre of cup with thumbs). Position in centre of oven. 
  3. Bake 15 to 18 minutes. 
  4. Let stand 1 to 2 minutes before serving.

Poor Quality Control

I used to buy these all the time, they were so good! Last year I tried a few different batches and found what a lot of other reviewers found- no lava! I contacted M&M and they said there had been no change to production but yet they are still very hit and miss with quality. Don't waste your money, you never know what you're doing to get.

The picture and description are deceiving. One cake had zero lava and the other had a small dab. The cake itself is fine but no better than a quick boxed cake mix. Very disappointing, we expected better from M&M

No Lava Cake

Very disappointing. You'll be hard pressed to find any of the lava. If you use the microwave half of it stays in the pot. My son got ZERO Lava in his.

I picked these up as a sweet treat. Having had these some time ago I looked forward to eating them again. I was disappointed to find a tiny amount of 'lava" and 98% cake. I hope that this is a "one off'.

No more lava?

I have bought these lava cakes for a long time and always a hit-so delicious. Oozing chocolate sauce as it should, being a “lava” cake. But most recent box there was literally maybe a 1/4 teaspoon. No spilling out., barely anything. Boy, what a disappointment! Hoping it was an exception M & M!

I don't even like chocolate but these dark chocolate lava cakes are just wonderful! Not too sweet & just the right amount to have as a great desert or just with a cup of coffee! Will certainly buy again!

Right size for a rich chocolate experience. The chocolate is not so sweet on both the cake and lava. I usually have them with vanilla ice cream. They're a perfect fit. The instructions are fairly easy to follow, and they always come out nicely.

This lava cake is not an actual lava cake there is no chocolate lava in the middle at all only about a 1/4 teaspoon of thick pudding like chocolate on top, cake is very dry, don't waste your money!
