Make Halloween easy with our yummy, hands-off meal ideas
Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021
It’s the spookiest time of the year! Now that your porch is decorated, your witch hat is dusted off and you’ve stocked up on Halloween candy (maybe grab a little extra to see you through the colder months?), you’ll need to plan a quick, easy feast you can effortlessly throw together before the trick-or-treating kicks off.
Whether you’re getting kids out the door for a night of candy collecting, or you’re hosting a spooky party for your nearest and dearest, this menu will have everyone screaming “Happy Halloween!” in delight. Plus, no waiting around for delivery, which can slow down the festivities.

3 chill ways to enjoy our Beef Chili
Packed with juicy beef, tender beans and zesty spices, this homestyle dish is the ultimate comfort food on a cool fall day. And you know what? It’s as versatile as it is tasty. Here are three easy ways to dress up our Beef Chili for your Halloween get-together.

Layered Chili Nachos
Spread a generous layer of tortilla chips on a baking sheet. Dollop with Beef Chili and sprinkle with shredded cheddar or Mexican-style cheese blend. Repeat to make a second layer. Broil, watching closely, until cheese is melted. Remove from the oven and garnish with pickled sliced jalapeños, sour cream and guacamole (thinly sliced green onions, diced fresh tomatoes and black olives are other tasty options to try). Serve the nachos right on the pan for easy cleanup.

Chili Dogs
Cook up your fave frankfurters and nestle them in fresh Sausage Buns (available for a limited time only during the summer months). Spoon on warm Beef Chili, sprinkle with diced onions and add a squiggle of ballpark mustard. Make them chili cheese dogs by adding a shower of shredded cheese and popping the whole bunch under the broiler until they’re melty and extra delicious.

Whip up sweet and savoury kabobs
Food on a stick is just more fun, right? And DIY kabobs are a yummy, creative way to satisfy everyone at the table without going to the trouble of fixing a multicourse meal. If you have lots of mouths to feed, add these skewer spreads to the table alongside one of our Beef Chili hacks above. If only a few of you are sitting down, these ideas will eat just like a meal.

Start with savoury kabobs
Onto long skewers, thread Chicken Chunks, Italian Style Beef Meatballs and Cheddar Cheese Bites, alternating with crunchy and tangy morsels, such as dill pickle chunks, olives, cherry tomatoes and pickled onions.

Finish with sweet kabobs
Onto long skewers, thread cubes of TOO TALL® Cake; classic Nanaimo Bars; and rich, decadent Double Chocolate Fudge Brownie Cake, alternating with fresh strawberries and airy Mini Cream Puffs. To take this dessert over the top, finish with a drizzle of strawberry coulis or chocolate sauce.
To make slicing…well…a piece of cake, do this step while your TOO TALL® Cake is still partially frozen.
