30-Minute meals

Next time you think you don’t have time for a sit-down dinner, think again! Carving out a fast, delicious 30-minute meal is easy. Here’s how.

Simple steakhouse dinner at home

Skip the restaurant prices and wait times in favour of your own boeuf du jour. Juicy New York Striploin Steaks offer the top-shelf taste you crave with a quick cooking time. Aged for a minimum of 21 days and hand-trimmed, these always-tender strips sizzle up nicely in a hot skillet on the stovetop, under the broiler or on the ’cue. Top them with a generous dollop of our creamy Spinach, Artichoke & Cheese Dip and you’re well on your way to Top Chef status. Pair your steaks with perfectly seasoned Bistro-style Green Beans and creamy Gourmet Stuffed Potatoes (your eyes do not deceive you — those ARE tender baked spuds that have been whipped and piped back into the crispy skins). Both achieve delicious results after a quick zap in the microwave. Add a glass of red or a dark beer and you’ll be in steakhouse heaven.

Sunday dinner on Tuesday

Your classic Sunday go-to can cross the finish line in a jiffy on a weeknight. We slow-cooked our Pork Pot Roast for five hours so you don’t have to. The result is a succulent, 30-minute winner dinner with a meaty gravy that’s brag-worthy and perfect for drizzling. Roasted potatoes? But of course! The cleanup on our Herbed Red Skin Potatoes is easy like Sunday morning, thanks to a foil baking tray that doubles as a serving dish. Start your spuds at the same time as your roast and garnish with a sprinkle of chopped fresh rosemary. You’ll need a veg, so try our sweet Grilled Carrots — they’re frozen at peak freshness, but not before being tossed with EVOO, garlic and ginger. The grand finale is nothing a generous slice of Homestyle Apple Pie can’t handle, especially if you make it à la mode with a scoop of ice cream. That’s what we call Tuesday masquerading as a Sunday, with no sweat.

Relaxed, minimal-effort vegetarian risotto dinner

The great thing about our Mushroom Risotto — beyond its delectable, al dente texture — is that you won’t have to stand over it, stirring endlessly. We took care of that, so all you need to do is give the creamy button and porcini mushroom-studded rice a brief mix with your favourite wooden spoon. While the risotto simmers in just a few minutes, whip up a batch of soft-boiled eggs to serve halved overtop for added protein. Give it a shower of spice from your Black Peppercorn Grinder before you dig in.

Sizzling Asian-style fry-day night

Friday night is the right time to skip the takeout and fry up some fun. Our Asian Party Pack is a fan favourite, and for good reason. Each box contains four finger-licking picks, including Breaded Chicken Breast Bites, Mini Pork Potstickers, Breaded Pork Loin Bites and Mini Vegetable Spring Rolls. Don’t skip the Plum Sauce — this ultra-popular Asian-style dipping sauce, with zesty hints of lemon and garlic, is a slam dunk across the board. Now turn your attention to the skillet, because the takeout-style hits keep coming. Our Sweet and Spicy Shrimp and Bay Scallop Kit is a convenient, sweet-and-savoury Thai-style meal maker, containing everything you need to make an impressive stir-fry: white rice, carrots, sugar snap peas, bell peppers, sustainably caught shrimp, bay scallops and an authentic spicy-sweet sauce. And it’s ready for you in 20 minutes flat.

Your beef and pork pot roasts are just like my grandmother used to make although somewhat salty. I have never been able to get my roasts to taste anything like yours. Love them.
